YOUR HELP IS NEEDED

To run an efficient meet, many volunteers are needed. It takes approximately 18 parents for an away meet and 40 for a home meet. Multiply that times the number of meets and that is a lot of volunteers. GET INVOLVED! Meets go much smoother and faster when we all pitch in. Each parent is needed to work 5 halves of swim meets. Meets are a family event, so please check the sign up board and volunteer today!

The following workers are needed for meets. (per half)

*Meet Director
*Referee (1 Home)
*Starter (2 Home)
*Strokes & Turns Judge (2 Home 2 Away)
*Clerk of Course - Head (1 Home)
                           Helpers (2 Home 1 Away)
Timers - Head (1 Home 1 Away)
             Helpers (9 Home 9 Away)
Runners (3 Home)
Announcer (1 Home)
False Start Rope Holder (1 Home)
*Sorter (1Home 1 Away)
Ribbon Labeler (2 Home 2Away)
*Scorer (1 Home 1 Away)
Computer Operator / Caller (1 Home 1 Away)
Printer Attendant (1 Home)
Results Poster / Refreshments (1 Home)
Bake Sale (2 Home)
Meet Set-Up & Supplies (1 Home)
** Mite Relay Helper (2-4 Home 2-4 Away)
** Swimmer Check-In (1 Home 1 Away)

We also need parents to help set-up and clean-up for Home meets. The pool closes at 4:00 and it takes a lot of help to get the deck area ready.

*Position requires certification.
** Does not count towards a half-meet position.
    Counts as quarter-meet position.

Remember: If you are scheduled to work the meet and are unable to do so, please find a replacement as soon as possible.

CAPS AND GOGGLES

Please encourage your swimmer(s) to wear their team caps and goggles at all meets. See coaches for caps, and goggles are available at most sporting goods stores.

GATOR PHOTOS

Have you been busy with your camera at meets and/or practices? Share the results with the team on our new photo page! Anything from "photo finishes", to our swimmers just having fun. (Did you catch a coach off guard?) To email your photos, click here or give copies to a team committee member. All photos will be returned as quickly as possible.

CERTIFICATION CLINICS

If you have been a timer for a couple of seasons, why not move up to a Certified position in 2007? You have the experience, and the team needs your help. You will increase your knowledge of the sport, enjoy a better view of the meet, and free up a timer position for a new swim parent. It's easy! Plan to attend a certification clinic and increase your swim meet expertise. Check back in the spring for dates, times and locations. Re-certification information will also be coming soon.

Certification is required for:
Starter
Strokes & Turns
Clerk of Course
Scorer
Referee (Must attend all above)
Meet Director

Re-certification:
Strokes & Turns
Referee
Clerk of Course
